Incredible Community Support

A Truckload of Supplies Raised for Houseless Community Members

Sara Eanni, Leif Spencer, and Holly Elliot

NWCC Board Member Holly Elliot (pictured above with Leif Spencer from LOA and Sara Eanni, CAI Outreach Committee) recently hosted two supply drives/fundraisers for Loving One Another (LOA). The community raised a truckload of supplies for the nonprofit organization, which partners with the NWCC on humanitarian issues in the Pearl District. Elliot organized the drive through Association Management Services NW, where she works as the Director of Business Development, and through CAI, an industry association for which Holly also serves on the board.

Leif Spencer of LOA spoke briefly before the crowd at the CAI luncheon on his outreach work in the Pearl. Spencer then met up with Holly to collect more supplies collected by the employees of AMS through TMG Cares, a non-profit organization run by TMG/AMS, both proud supporting members of NWCC.

The drive successfully collected an entire truckload of supplies, including sleeping bags, tents, hand warmers, jackets, and other much-needed supplies for Loving One Another’s outreach work in the Pearl. LOA’s unique strategy of establishing relationships with houseless communtiy members, and supporting their emotional and physical needs allows for a much more practical and humane form of rehabilitation.
