NWCC’s Crow Abatement Program demonstrates how communities, businesses, and science can collaborate to protect shared spaces — ensuring Portland’s skies remain peaceful and its parks thriving.

Community. Learn. Give
Kort Clayton Integrated Avian Solution and NWCC Executive Director, Chase McPherson with Guy the Harris’s Hawk
““The Harris Hawks used for hazing have no direct contact with the crows. The hawks simply do short flights in the vicinity of the crows to shift them towards more acceptable locations.”
Join your neighbors for a live falconry demonstration and learn how trained raptors are helping the Pearl District manage crow populations in a humane, science-based way.
The showcase will feature Kort Clayton and the Avian Solutions team, with Harris’s Hawks demonstrating the art and science of falconry. Attendees will learn how raptors help restore balance to Portland’s urban ecosystem.
The program includes:
Welcome remarks from NWCC and community leaders
Live hawk flight demonstration
Educational discussion on humane crow abatement
