Security Alert: Assault Incident
We would like to inform our community of a concerning safety incident that occurred on Friday, July 11, at approximately 6:00 PM. A community member was randomly assaulted and punched in the face by an unknown individual, later identified as Eder Ruizhernadez, near the Metropolitan Condominiums.
We are compiling verified details to provide our members with accurate, up-to-date information.
Thanks to the Metropolitan Condos’ security team, the incident was captured on video, and clear photographs of the suspect were obtained. This footage greatly assisted the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) in locating and arresting the individual within one hour.
911 was called immediately, and law enforcement responded promptly.
The suspect was booked into Multnomah County Jail. However, public records indicate he was released the same day, and the reason for this release is currently unknown. Multnomah County Sheriff has their own booking policy, which PPB does not control.
Ruizhernadez missed his court date on July 16th—there is a warrant out for his arrest.

“I want to thank the Portland Police Bureau for their hard work and their partnership with NWCC. This partnership with Law Informant allows NWCC to be eyes and ears for day-to-day happenings in the Pearl and helps PPB prioritize their finite resources. The partnership also helps keep the community more informed about the ins and outs of policing in the city. Thank you, PPB!”
