Building a Stronger Pearl District Community in 2026
As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited about the possibilities for the Pearl District and the momentum building around NWCC’s humanitarian efforts. As a local nonprofit, we are committed to our community; the residents, businesses and visitors that make up this amazing place.
Supporting Community Cleanliness Through Thoughtful Stewardship
On January 1, 2026, we officially launched our crow abatement program, an important step in improving cleanliness throughout the Pearl District. We’re already seeing positive improvements in reducing bird droppings while continuing to respect the crows that are part of the neighborhood’s character.
Our advocacy efforts and broader approach to urban wildlife seek to address the Pearl District’s quality-of-life concerns through humane, balanced solutions for the crows, people, and place.
Growing Partnerships Across the Pearl District
There’s great momentum across the district. New buildings and businesses are joining NWCC, helping us grow our services and expand what we offer to the community. Whether you’re a long-time resident, a business owner, or new to the neighborhood, we believe community-based nonprofit work is strongest when more voices and perspectives are involved.
Looking ahead, we’re seeking weekend support for our humanitarian team and hope to add staff to support business development, events, and community engagement. These efforts help make the Pearl a more welcoming and connected place for everyone.
A Shared Vision for Community Care in 2026
2026 is a wonderful opportunity to see what’s possible when we come together, to create a community that is safer, more social, and more connected. We look forward to the year ahead and to continuing this work alongside you.
Thank you for being a part of the NWCC!
