Centennial Mills Demolition Update
Since the Centennial Mills warehouse caught fire on August second, the City of Portland has been working with the property owner to remove the building safely. Starting Monday, August 17th, contractors are scheduled to begin demolishing the building.
The demolition will involve the use of controlled explosions: the city will begin clearing property owners approximately 1 hour before the first explosives are detonated. Sign up for Multnomah County Public Alerts for updates: PublicAlerts.org/signup.
Before the blast begins, the contractor will fully clear the area within 300 feet of Centennial Mills. There are no residential buildings within that area. Fields Park will remain closed. The 300-foot exclusion zone is shown on the image above. The map is intended as a reference only. Get more information at Portland.gov/Centennial-Mills.
