Partnering for Progress in the Pearl District
NWCC’s Executive Director and Portland City Councilor Zimmerman Reconnect to Advance Advocacy in the Pearl
Last week, I had the chance to walk the Pearl District with District 4 Councilor Eric Zimmerman—and it felt like both a reunion and a fresh start.
Eric and I used to work side by side, back when he was with the City and I was with Downtown Clean & Safe. Reconnecting in our new roles—as councilor and as executive director of NWCC—was not only meaningful but energizing. We spent the morning talking about what’s happening on the ground here in the Pearl District and how NWCC is working to meet those challenges with real, community-based solutions.
As a former Pearl resident, Eric brought a thoughtful, grounded perspective. It’s clear he still cares deeply about this neighborhood, and I appreciated his openness to listening, learning, and exploring ways we can support each other’s work.
I’m grateful for his continued engagement and am looking forward to the ways we can collaborate to keep the Pearl safe, livable, and connected.
If you’re interested in supporting our mission or getting more involved, I’d love to connect. Reach out to me directly at chase@nwccpdx.org or learn more about NWCC membership and advocacy opportunities at www.nwccpdx.org.
Together, we can make a difference.
