Making Connections: Introducing the Office of Small Business
NWCC and Prosper Portland Hit the Streets to Discuss Resources with Pearl District Small Businesses
This month, as part of NWCC’s advocacy work, we partnered with Prosper Portland’s new Office of Small Business for a two-hour tour, linking Pearl District businesses with valuable city resources.
NWCC Executive Director Chase McPherson walked with Prosper Portland's Office of Small Business throughout the Pearl District to meet with small businesses and introduce them to the new office. The Office of Small Businesses is designed to help small businesses navigate resources: helping apply for grants and permits, and assisting with a wide range of other issues a small business might have.
The group stopped by 15 different small businesses to drop off cards or talk to owners/managers to discuss how this new department can help small businesses succeed in the city.
Thank you, District 4 Liaison Julieanna Elegant and Manager Mitch Daugherty, for joining Chase for the Pearl business connection walk.

Connect with Resources:
If anyone has a small business and has any questions, they should reach out to Julieanna so the city can better support the small businesses that make Portland unique. Julienna’s email is elegantj@prosperportland.us.
She has worked with Chase, our Executive Director, for a few months, connecting small businesses. She’s very responsive, loves to meet in person, and works hard to meet businesses where they need it. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
Together, we can shape a stronger, more vibrant Pearl District.
